Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the recruitment of MTS & Havaldar Vacancy through Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff, and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination, 2025. Interested and eligible candidates may apply online here.

Eligibility Criteria of SSC MTS Recruitment

Nationality: The nationality of the candidate should be

  • A citizen of India
  • Subject of Nepal
  • Subject of Bhutan
  • Tibetan Refugee
  • Person of Indian Origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Afghanistan, Kenya, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam.

Age Limit:

  • MTS: Age of the candidates should be between 18 to 25 years as on 1st August 2025. Candidates should born not before 02.08.2000 and not later than 01.08.2007.
  • Havaldar: Age of the candidates should be between 18 to 27 years as on 1st August 2025. Candidates should born not before 02.08.1998 and not later than 01.08.2007.

Scheme of MTS Examination

SSC MTS examination will consist of a Computer Based Examination(CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST) (only for the post of Havaldar).

Computer Based Examination

Computer Based Examination will be conducted in two Sessions: Session-1 and Session-2, on the same day and both the Sessions will be mandatory to be attempted. If nay one can’t attempting any session will disqualify the candidate

  • Type of Questions: Computer Based Examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions.
  • Language of Examination: The Computer Based Examination will be conducted in Hindi, English and in 13 regional languages viz. (i) Assamese, (ii) Bengali, (iii) Gujarati, (iv) Kannada, (v) Konkani, (vi) Malayalam, (vii) Tamil, (viii) Marathi, (ix) Panjabi, (x) Odia, (xi) Manipuri, (xii) Telugu and (xiii) Urdu
  • Negative Marking: There will be no negative marking in Session-1. In Session-2, there will be negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
  • Time Duration: The candidates will get 45 Minutes to complete Session-1. Immediately after completion of Session-1, Session-2 will start. Session-2 will also be for 45 Minutes.
  • Normalization: Marks scored by candidates in Computer Based Examination(CBT), if conducted in multiple shifts, will be normalized by using the formula published by the Commission through Notice No: 1-1/2018-P&P-I dated 07-02-2019 and such normalized scores will be used to determine final merit and cut-off marks.

Physical Standard Test (PST)

Minimum physical standards for the post of Havaldar in CBIC and CBN are as follows below:

Male Height: 157.5 cms. (relaxable by 5 cms. in the case of Garhwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas and members of Schedule Tribes)Chest: Chest-81 cms. (fully expanded with minimum expansion of 5 cms.)
